As an online business owner you have made a commitment to your members as to what you will provide to them. If you are a Warren Buffett and are offering stock market advice for 0,000 per month or you have a web site that someone visits merely to look at what you have to say about a given topic, you have made a commitment as to what you will provide. So why is it important that those who follow you have a schedule when you will post? Why is it important for you to have a schedule for yourself as to when you will post?
When people put forth either the money or the effort to follow you on the internet they have an expectation as to what you will provide. This expectation will vary depending on what value that they give to you. If they merely find your site on a search engine and stop by to visit your page, then the expectation may only be that you provide the information that the search engine suggested. If they have joined you paid monthly membership site and newsletter then they are expecting value in a timely relevant manner.
First you must make a commitment to yourself as to what you can provide. We often find that our desire to provide is higher than our ability to provide. It is always better to under promise and over provide rather than the other way around. If you commit to provide a weekly newsletter and you give them a twice weekly every now and then with new ideas that are just breaking on to the scene they will be happy. If you are charging them per month for a twice weekly newsletter and only provide weekly content, it will not be long before you lose your members.

Different niches in the market require different schedules for publishing. If you are in a fast paced changing environment you will need a more frequent publishing schedule. The content may be shorter as you are developing your content rapidly while awaiting the next change in this niche market. Niche markets that are slower to change may require a less frequent schedule but will require more detailed information. As this market does not change rapidly you must help people understand the details.
As you make your commitment to your schedule be prepared to look at the long-range picture. If you are committing to a daily release of information realize that is a 365 day commitment. If you are committing to a weekly release you must be prepared to publish 52 exciting publications.
Here is advice as to frequency:
· 365 times a year you are going to have to provide content that your readers have at least enough of a burning desire to read that they open your emails daily.
· Weekly content is still a lot of work because you will provide more content and words and yet must still keep it fresh and up-to-date. Will your readers appreciate this?
· 26 articles per year. If you are providing powerful content and can leave your readers anxiously waiting for your nest publication this can succeed.
· Very tough to be able to get someone to read the amount of content that you would need to publish. Also your readers will be looking in between for updates elsewhere.
No matter which schedule that you choose remember that when you break that schedule, your readers will lose value in you. They will start to drift away as they see that you have lost value in what you are doing. Your motto should be
May I wish you great experience rather than great luck? Great experience determines the outcome of any luck.
